Hello again, welcome to the United Basketball Legion. Thanks for returning to our blog. We have some big news regarding the future of the UBLEE, our European league. We have decided that we will even further expand our European League to span all across the world to include countries and continents like Africa, Asia, South America, and even Australia. We will soon be sending scouts out to other pars of the world to decide which places we will place our teams and their stadiums. We will decide where to locate the teams based on a couple of aspects about the surrounding area. We will look at population, want for a basketball team and the number of possible players that that area offers.

The best basketball players in the world make some of the best plays you will ever see. And now these players will be making these crazy plays during UBL games this season. You will see buzzer beaters, no look passes, and rim raddling slam dunks. These players will bring flare to the new league and make every game a must watch event. The UBL players will be making some of the craziest plays you will see and because of the lesser number of games then in the NBA season every play counts and all mistakes are crucial. Check out this video, these plays will be being made this year in the UBL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb7_Iygdj28

NBA Lockout

The NBA lockout is in full force. Players from all NBA teams are signing contracts to play in Europe, Asia, and South America because of the turmoil between the players and owners. It is really disappointing to see these Americans stars leaving for other countries to play just because the greedy owners cannot settle on a deal. In my opinion the lockout needs to be ended as soon as possible to keep these players in the US. It would be very disappointing to not be able to watch these stars on TV because of the time difference. Or they could come to the UBL.

The UBL has officially opened its first season with a weekend of exciting games. The winners of the first games were Boston, Salt Lake City, Chicago, and Miami, all of which are now 1-0. The losers, New York, Seattle, Houston, and Los Angles hope for a god week of practice and a better game next week. The UBL has recently installed a Players vs. Students charity campaign. Selected players from each city will go to a chosen school and play in a fun game against the student body and any students chosen to represent the school. We will charge five dollars for admittance into the game. We will take players from each city and play them against students from towns. We will donate 2 dollars for every point scored by the winning team and donate to a charity.

Season Opener

The big event is finally almost here. With the new "no-preseason" format that the United Basketball Legion has chosen for their season, the first UBL game will also be the first regular season game. The first game between Boston and Seattle, held in Boston. The other games that will be held the same weekend include Salt Lake City vs. Los Angeles, New York vs. Chicago, and Miami vs. Houston. We here at the UBL strongly advise the audience and the fans to watch all of our games. We have only selected the finest and most exciting players from the former National Basketball Association. We will post game predictions for each of the four games soon, and then we will update you on how the games went if you didn't happen to watch any of the games. Stay Tuned!

Upcoming Events

The first ever UBL draft was held on Monday, September 19. Teams had a 50 million dollar salary cap and a 30 million dollar spending minimum. The draft was held online and was the first online draft of its kind. Each team drafted 8 players who they believed would hold out through the long, almost seven month season and help them make the playoffs. The first game is yet to be scheduled and will most likely be held on an upcoming friday night. Games will be held and broadcasted one game Friday night, and all other games on Saturday at 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and one late game at 8:00 pm saturday night.

The UBL

United Basketball Legion, a new basketball league created to replace the NBA during the upcoming lockout. The commissioner of our league is Kenny Powers. Some owners in our league are Luc LeBleu, Shane Wright, Zack Gross, and Andy Dunn. Each owner in the league owns two teams. Teams are located in Boston, New York, Miami, Chicago, Houston Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Games are 48 minutes long, played in quarters much like former games in the NBA. There are 26 games in a season. Seasons are structured like seasons in the NFL with each team playing only one game a week, which makes each game more important.
